Non-Diet
Health Coaching

Please contact me about availability. I am currently full on evening sessions but do have some daytime openings.
One-on-one coaching is client-centered using the techniques of Motivational Interviewing (MI). At your first session, we will gather a health history and discuss what focus you want to take with coaching. It is my goal to be a partner and help facilitate client-chosen goals that enhance quality of life. Coaching is centered on a positive, uplifting and accepting relationship. There is no room for shame or blame in our coaching.

What coaching is focused on: We will work together to find a focus that is aligned with your personal values and goals. Some examples of non-diet health coaching include:
-
learning body signals
-
making peace with current health status
-
letting go of the diet mentality
-
coping with emotions with kindness
-
movement that is helpful and not harmful
-
cultivating body neutrality, respect and gratitude
-
incorporating stress management techniques
-
creating a sleep care plan
-
health practices focused to enhance quality of life
-
honoring physical and emotional health

What coaching is not: We do not include diets, calorie counting, scale measurements, exercise to earn food, shaming, worthiness based on a shape or size, the no pain/no gain mentality of exercise.

How long are appointments?
Appointments are 50 minutes in length.

How often should we meet?
It depends. Many people start out with weekly and choose to go to
bi-weekly or monthly as they build confidence towards their
goals. It really depends on what works for you! No wrong
answer here.

Can I do this coaching if I have an eating disorder?
No, non-diet health coaching is not for those experiencing an
eating disorder. If you need to connect with local therapists and
dietitian nutritionists, I'm happy to provide some names of
people who have experience with eating disorder treatment.
Lastly, I do provide coaching regarding return to movement if
your treatment teams refers you. I follow the Safe Exercise at
Every Stage (SEES) guidelines, collaborating with your healthcare
team.
