About Me
Hi, I'm Tonya!

I have 20+ years of experience helping others including teaching higher education, cardiac rehabilitation, non-profit management, triathlon and fitness coaching, group fitness instruction as well as health coaching. I live in Madison, AL with my husband, two kids and two dogs. Things I love: family, travel, connecting with friends, any activity on or near the water, homegrown veggies, tea, chocolate and planning all the things.

I graduated with my bachelor's degree in Psychology from Birmingham-Southern College and finished my master's in Health Studies at The University of Alabama. I'm a lifelong learner and have completed several certifications over the years to further my education, including: Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) through the National Commission on Health Education Credentialing as well as becoming a Certified Medical Exercise Specialist (CMES), Certified Health Coach, Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Group Fitness Instructor all through the American Council on Exercise. In 2022 I completed training to become a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor. Additionally, I have participated in 30+ hours of continuing education related to eating disorders and movement in recovery.

My philosophy is aligned with a non-diet and weight-inclusive approach. All bodies are worthy bodies. No shame or blame here. I hope to help others repair and uplift their connection with movement, body and food. Life is about more than trying to earn worthiness through our body's shape & size. I work alongside clients to help them let go of diet culture habits and build up practices that uplift, nourish and care for their bodies in a positive and helpful way.
